Nourish & Move: an evening in the estuary Tuesday, September 29, 5:30 to 7:30 PM

Autumn is the season when everything moves back toward the ground. Seeds fall, the soil gets ready, and the work shifts from harvesting to preparing what's already been gathered. Sea to Sky Cooks is marking that turn with an evening of walking, sitting and making, led by Natalia Correa.
We'll start at the Squamish Estuary and walk slowly toward the beach, with an invitation to set an intention and pay attention to what you notice along the way: what you see, what you smell, what you hear. We'll sit for a few minutes with shoes off before walking back to the library, where there'll be chai, hummus and sourdough waiting.
Over food, Natalia will talk about slowing down on purpose. Noticing the seasons in nature, and the seasons in our own nature. The more clearly we understand where we are, the better we listen, the less we push against, and the more resilience our bodies build. Small acts repeated over time turn into habits, and the evening is about building healthier ones from what's already around us.
Then we make things. Each participant takes home a jar each of herb-infused honey and vinegar, built for the season ahead. Cacao and orange peel with fennel seed as a bitter tonic. Cinnamon, turmeric, pepper and cardamom for warmth and immune support. Natalia will introduce each herb and what it does, and share simple recipes you can make again at home.
We'll close with small habits, big shifts, and a reading from Robin Wall Kimmerer on the honourable harvest.
