In the Sea to Sky, creativity doesn’t live in silos. It flows across kitchens, farms, studios, breweries, workshops, and community spaces—constantly shaping and reshaping how we express ourselves. Food here isn’t just something we eat. It’s a creative medium, an extension of culture, and a living reflection of the people and places that define the region.
The Sea to Sky Cooks Collective was inspired by this idea:
that culinary expression is art, and art shapes our understanding of food.

Look closely at any restaurant menu, market stall, or small-batch craft product in the region and you’ll see storytelling—rooted in heritage, technique, environment, and imagination. Chefs create like painters, farmers cultivate like sculptors, and makers experiment like designers. The result is a uniquely Sea to Sky blend of flavours and narratives shaped by nature, history, and culture.
Food is culture.
Culture inspires art.
Art changes how we experience food.
This cycle feeds our communities—literally and creatively.
As we build this project, we are excited to explore these connections by:
Showcasing the artistry behind local dishes, ingredients, and culinary traditions
Celebrating the cultural stories—Indigenous, immigrant, and multi-generational—that enrich the corridor
Highlighting makers whose work blends craft, creativity, and food
Working with artists, photographers, and cultural leaders to create cross-disciplinary storytelling

In the Sea to Sky, creativity is everywhere. It’s in the way a baker scores a loaf, the way a farmer curates their seasonal crops, the way a chef plates a dish, the way an artist captures the experience of a shared meal. By shining a light on this shared creative energy, we hope to deepen appreciation for the region’s interconnected community of growers, makers, artists, storytellers, and culinary innovators.
Food is art.
Art is culture.
And together, they tell the story of place.
